Lawful & Unlawful Food

Recently, with the media fast, Muslims are increasingly in contact with Western countries, more than ever before. Because of their special dietary laws, Muslims face the issue of eating meat from animals slaughtered by Christians and Jews.
In the advent of Islam, Mecca of society in general and the poor in particular are being implemented in the enormous economic problems in their daily lives. The poor were forced to borrow money from bankers in the Mecca of interest. Moreover, religious taboos in the society of Mecca, in the consumption of meat of various species of animals, has made life unbearable. It is in this context that the dark grandeur and freshness of the divine message can not be fully realized. They had seen a long list of forbidden foods and the use of bankers. In these circumstances, the Prophet asked him what was forbidden foods. He replied with the words of the Qur'an: Say: "In what has been revealed to me, I can not find something forbidden to eat, if you eat if 'is carrion, or blood spilled, or pork for here is the low, or offering of fishers in a name other than God has been invoked. But if we are compelled by necessity or greed or greater than their immediate need, then (know that), here, the Outfitter is much more forgiving, a dispenser of grace "(6:145).
It follows the previous verse, in principle, everything is legal to be consumed by a Muslim, and only God has the right to prohibit certain harmful things to be consumed as food, for He is the Creator knows what is good or bad for His creatures. Furthermore, the prohibition of a particular food can only be done through a clear order. Another external source of the prohibition would be contrary to the spirit of the teachings of Islam.
While people have been reared in an environment deeply influenced by ancient customs, superstitions and religious prejudice was not easy to break down barriers, because their minds agitated by doubts, which could, as he wanted kidnapped by the new instructions. Therefore, the Qur'an repeatedly makes a statement about the different types of food lawful or unlawful for Muslims. Therefore, the second time a statement as the first (6:145) was revealed: "Eat what God has provided for you lawful and good, and be thankful for the blessing of God, if c 'He to be used. These things only forbidden carrion, blood and pork, which was dedicated to other than God. But who is forced, unwilling or transgress, God is Forgiving, Merciful. And do not say in what language described erroneously "This is lawful and this is forbidden," so you can invent a lie against God, without doubt, those who invent lies against God can not prosper "( 16:114-118).
To underscore once again the Qur'an repeats the same request: "You who believe! Eat of the good things that have given us, and thank God if you worship him. The only things that can not: carrion, blood and pork, which was dedicated to other than God. But who is forced, unwilling or offender, no sin shall be upon him, God is Forgiving, Merciful "(2:172-3).
And for the fourth time, the Koran says: "It is forbidden carrion, blood, pork, which was dedicated to other than God, the beast of strangulation (munkhaniqa), the animal was beaten to death (mawqudha), the animal fell to death (mutaraddiya), the beast gored (natiha), and eaten by predators (MA Akala the sabu'u), except that you have sacrificed for thig also sacrificed to idols and divided by the arrows, which is the transgression. That day, the unbelievers have despaired of your religion, therefore, do not fear, but fear me. (5:3).
This clearly means that four things are specifically prohibited in the Quran:
First, the animal dies. The word means corpse Mayta. If an animal had died accidentally and had not been recorded before his death, was considered a dead animal or carcass. Second, the blood (Damm), which is shed. This has also been banned by the law of Moses (Leviticus 7:26). Third, pork (khinzer Lahm). This has also been banned by the law of Moses (Leviticus 11:7). Jesus as a Jew seems to have remained true to the pigs of horror: "Do not throw your pearls before swine" (Mt 7:6). It is also reported to have used a series of evil spirits, then allowed to go to a plant of swine, causing death (Mt 8:30-32, Mk. 5:11, 12). This shows that he regarded the animals as unclean. Fourth, the food in a name other than God was invoked at the time of the slaughter, or meat dedicated to nothing but God. The custom of reciting the name of a deity was the practice of the pagans of Mecca, but the Koran is the opposition in strong terms. It is reported that some Jews asked the Prophet: "We eat meat from animals in isolation for ourselves, not to cut through God." By "not by God," the Jews meant dead animal carcasses. At this time, the Koranic verse revealed: "Do not eat, that God's name is not mentioned, because it is a sin" (6:121).
Under Islamic law, all animals that are allowed for human consumption must be sacrificed so that blood flows. The Arabic word for the slaughter is dhabaha, means cutting or dividing the length in a general sense, dead or killed, and technically it has killed an animal in the manner prescribed by law, i. e. by reducing the external jugular veins, or a blow to the throat Horn, then the party with his head. By law, four veins are cut in the sacrifice of an animal, or trachea hulqum, Mari 'or esophagus and Wadajir or two external jugular veins. In the Koran, however, this word is used in a general sense, while the technical word for the slaughter of an animal for food in a particular way is tadhkiya, presented in 5:3. The idea behind this particular form of slaughter is causing blood flow to the poison or a virus that should not be part of the meal.
The food of the followers of Ahl Al-Kitab is expressly authorized in the Quran: "And the food of those who received the Scripture is lawful for you, and the food is lawful for them" (5:5). Thus, the meat is played by Christians and Jews are allowed to feed a whole regardless of their religious beliefs and their method of slaughtering animals, and in May a Muslim therefore invite the followers of Ahl Al-Kitab, in your table and eaten at the table in May.
The Dhabihat al-Arab (animal slaughtered in the deserts of Arabia) is the title of a chapter of Bukhari, and as this tradition is mentioned that some people came to the Prophet and asked him about the meat that was brought to them by Others do not know if the name of God was invoked over or not. The Prophet said: "You mention the name of God in it and eat it" (Bukhari, 72:30). This gives great flexibility in difficult and doubtful cases in which a Muslim has to rely on food provided or prepared by non-Muslims.
Sheikh Abu Bakr Ghammoo Mahmoud, Chief Justice of Northern Nigeria, said that the verses for Muslims to eat meat killed by Jews and Christians are combined by a conjunctive Waw, which gives the impression of approval. This hypothesis is supported by the action of the Companions of the Prophet, when they went to Syria. They ate the meat supplied by the Christians, without inquiring about how your pet died. (see al-Muslimun, Geneva, 1964, p. 53). Regarding the question about how to use the modern method of slaughter in western countries, can be reasonably argued that humane methods of killing not only permissible, but also close to the spirit of the tradition of the Prophet, has said: "Allah has ordained kindness to all. If you kill, kill, therefore the best way, and if you slaughter, slaughter and the best way "(al-Muslim, 6:72).
To save animals from unnecessary pain, the Prophet has recommended the use of a sharp knife to cut the jugular vein, which was the most beautiful and less pain that gives way. The modern method of slaughtering animals consists of stunning, cutting his throat with a captive bolt pistol or electric or a gas mixture of carbon dioxide from the air. The captive bolt pistol destroyed part of the brain that controls the action of the heart, electrical stunning and carbon dioxide anesthesia does not destroy a part of the brain, but keeps the brain receives pain sensations. After stunning, by any method that the major blood vessels of the neck are severed and the animal bleeds to death. There is little chance of an animal to recover from brain damage caused by the captive bolt pistol, but the animals recover from the effects of electrical stunning and carbon dioxide anesthesia, if not slaughtered immediately. "If the new means of killing is more rapid and sharp, their employment is more desirable. It is the prophet: "God ordered us to be good at everything" (Inna katabal Ihsan Allah ala kulli shay'in) cf. Al-Muslimun, Geneva, 1964, p. 108.
Khallaf Abdul Wahhab, the Egyptian theologian, wrote in Liwa Al-Islam (Cairo, 1949, p. 131) that "the cattle and other animals that Christians and Jews to slaughter in a way that makes it lawful to eat according to their religions, it is permissible for Muslims to eat. "In his Al-Bahrul Muhit (3:431), Abu Hayyan Gharnatiy wrote:" The first and the first view is that they (Christians and Jews) the food is lawful for Muslims s was mentioned name of God upon him or another name. "
The Mufti of Jordan said: "The lawyers have agreed that a Muslim is permitted to eat meat offered by a man of Ahl al-Kitab. It's not fair to suspect that the method of slaughter, whether or not God's name is invoked at the time of the slaughter. It is not even worth investigating this issue, because the verses of the Koran are absolute, without any restrictions (Mutlaq). A considerable number of religious practitioners have said that animals carved by a man of Ahl al-Kitab allowed Muslims to eat whatever the method of May the slaughter. The Prophet offered some roast lamb for some Jews, and ate it without questioning its way to slaughter. His colleagues also noted his habit of eating meat offered by Christian when they were in Syria. Those who do not eat their meat in Europe and the U.S. as the views of some who are against the views mentioned above, there is no reason for it except the illusion (WAHM). "See Al-Muslimun, Geneva, 1964, p. 111.
The Kadi of Medina, Ata (d. 721 AD) and Rabi'a and al-Layth (d. 791 AD), the mufti of Egypt has made similar statements in this context. In his Mabsoot, Sarakhsiy (D. 899 AD) wrote: "The flesh of animals slaughtered by a Christian is always permissible for Muslims to eat or not to invoke the Christian Trinity, during the slaughter of animal.
