The Philadelphia Eagles took home a win against Washington on November 29 with a final score of 27-24. It was a close game, but when the final buzzer rang, the Philadelphia Eagles were ahead three points and walked away winners. The next game is against the Atlanta Falcons and promises to be another exciting opportunity to see the Philadelphia Eagles in action. Critics of this hardworking team may be quick to point out that the 2009 season has not been the best for the Philadelphia Eagles. They opened the preseason with a loss against the Patriots and followed it with another loss against the Colts. A third loss against the Jets made their win against the Jaguars the only one of the preseason. As the regular season began, the Philadelphia Eagles set about making a winning streak but periodic losses seemed to continue to plague the team. There’s no argument from critics, fans and even the team themselves that the loss to the Saints on September 20 was a deep wound where the Philadelphia Eagles suffered through 22 points as the Saints made more than twice as many points. Perhaps a great deal of controversy surrounds player Michael Vick but there’s more to a team than one member’s past and with supportive and optimistic fans along with knowledgeable staff behind them, the Philadelphia Eagles can approach each of the remaining games in the season with anticipation of many more opportunities to do what they do best: throw the ball and play some really good football. For certain, this team has some great offensive players and coaches but they need to work hard on staying away from the penalties. There are those who focus on the stat sheets when they look at the Philadelphia Eagles and others who look at the sheer force and raw power of the players as they come to the field. This season, there’s a clear difference between the two. Lincoln Financial Field is the location where all of the home games are played by the Philadelphia Eagles. It was decided that the team would benefit from a new stadium when they were purchased by Jeffrey Lurie in 1994 and plans were set about to begin building Lincoln Financial Field. Today, there are many excellent sites and fantastic amenities for every visitor who comes to this world class stadium. Whether you are planning to attend for football, entertainment or another sports venue, you will find that there is no other stadium in the world that quite compares to Lincoln Financial Field. There’s the Pepsi Gate, SCA Club & Suite Entry, West Club & Suite Entry, West Gate and Comcast Gate, each with its own particular entry that provides the best way to get to specific seating in the area. Located at the corner of Broad Street and Pattison Avenue, there are many seating options designed to suit even the most discriminating patron to Lincoln Financial Field. On the 100 Level, which is surrounded by the main concourse, there are many amenities to choose from as you enter the stadium and all during your game day festivities. Family restrooms, ATMs and enough concessions to ensure that you get what you want to eat, ranging from a famous Philly steak and cheese option to many other great tasting delights. Those who enjoy seating that’s ample and spacious can choose from the 200 Level where there are great sites and still more eateries to choose from. The 200 Level is easily accessible from several gated entries and forms nearly a complete circle around Lincoln Financial Field so that you can have the perfect seating option on virtually any side of the stadium.

Sunday, January 17th, 2010Eagles, McNabb Look For Redemption vs. Redskins
Saturday, January 2nd, 2010The final seconds ticked away, and the seemingly impossible came to fruition: The Oakland Raiders beat the NFC East division title contender Philadelphia Eagles 9-13 in what many (including myself) considered an automatic W for a Philadelphia team that appeared to have all their ducks in a row. They will be looking to take out their frustration in this week’s Monday night matchup against a fledgling club in the (+7) Washington Redskins. After a promising preseason for the ‘Skins, Washington finds themselves at 2-4 on the season, and on the outs with head coach Jim Zorn. At the helm for only a season and a half, the Redskins organization announced this week that they have relieved Zorn of play calling duties until further notice, and for good reason. Washington has scored merely 79 yards through its first 6 games, 29th overall in the 32 team league, predicated by a rushing attack that has averaged less than 100 yards per game. However, the most glaring blot on Washington’s schedule this season is undoubtedly their loss to the then winless Kansas City Chiefs just last week. A fellow member of the under 100 rushing yards club, Kansas City outplayed a Washington team that was able to manage a total of 6 points against a defense that had given up an average of 27. 6 points per game to that point of the season. Every team from the NFC East who played last week lost, but none bigger than the Philadelphia Eagles. While they lost by only 5 points, the fact that the loss was at the hands of the Oakland Raiders made those 5 points seem like 500. After a week 5 shellacking of the Tampa Bay Bucs, the offense of Philadelphia couldn’t get anything going. While throwing 269 yards, Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was sacked 6 times and forced to attempt 46 passes as the rushing game failed to get anything going. These Eagles became the first team in 3 seasons to fail to score a touchdown against the bottom of the barrel Raiders. On paper, these teams are no comparison. Although each suffered embarrassing losses last week, the Eagles possess a superior passing game, a better quarterback, and a more effective defense, Philadelphia is a team that should be direct contender for the NFC East divisional title, if not the crème de la crème of the entire conference. The only problem they have is the fact that they can never seem to get out of their own way. That and their weak rushing attack put the pressure of McNabb to get the job done week in and week out; opportunities he has failed to rise to on a consistent basis. None the less, the Eagles know the importance of this game as they head into three straight divisional foes through the next three weeks. I would never say a loss to the Raiders would be an adequate rallying cry for a team to start rolling, but as always with the Eagles, you just never can tell. Final Score: 27-18 Philadelphia
